BMF Launch Event

CR Plus

21 Feb 2025

Bradford Manufacturing Futures organisation formed to lead the way for decarbonisation.

The Bradford Manufacturing Futures (BMF) launch event was held today (Feb 21st) in Bradford City Hall. The BMF is a non-for-profit organisation led by local manufacturers but supported by local government, local infrastructure companies, innovation organisations and service providers, to practically navigate the transition to Net Zero, avoiding risk and taking advantage of opportunities.

Early work from BMF has identified over a £1bn of potential investment in clean energy generation, distribution, and new equipment in our manufacturing sites, thereby protecting/transitioning 24,000 local jobs and creating the mechanisms to work with our infrastructure companies to deliver Net Zero for industry and the wider community.

Bradford Manufacturing Futures shared the results from the last 12 months of work by project partners and approximately 50 businesses who have engaged together with academia & infrastructure to provide practical structures that can support industries in Bradford and enable a roll-out to the wider WYCA area in meeting the local & global decarbonisation goals.

Quote 2 - Richard Pyatt, CR Plus Ltd

"We are thrilled to be part of this transformative project. Bradford Manufacturing Futures has developed a district-wide roadmap for decarbonisation, alongside an investment prospectus, and is committed to sharing its knowledge with manufacturers across the district and the wider West Yorkshire region."
