5 Clean Growth Hubs

Five ‘Clean Growth Hubs’ have been identified in the Bradford district.
These contain some of the largest manufacturing sites in the district and represent a significant proportion of regional emissions and GDP. Alongside other nearby businesses, these hubs represent significant opportunities for shared action on low carbon energy generation and decarbonisation activities.

Calbee produce the famous Seabrook’s crisps. Through Bradford Manufacturing futures, CR Plus spend time with Calbee and identified key energy saving initiatives and how Calbee can decarbonise the heat to provide hot oil for frying.

Solenis

Solenis specialise in polymers and flocculants for the water industry and more. They operate their own power plant and emit over 50,000 tonnes of CO2 each year. Solenis want to trainsition to a clean future. Through BMF, we introduced Solenis to a new technology that can enable the site to transition away from natural gas to renewable electricity whilst keeping costs competitive.
